RASHMI NIMBALKAR
ABOUT
Anil Gaikwad's paintings arise from a close attention to the interior life and to the qualities of feeling that move through lived experience. His canvases are not planned so much as received, arriving largely without premeditation through a process in which the painter acts as much as medium as maker. The paintings do not seek to address the viewer from a position of formal authority. They open instead toward a private and shared space, where the visible becomes a point of entry rather than an endpoint. His practice has been recognised with the M.P. State Raza Award and the AIFACS Scholarship Award.
