Radha Sutar

Radha's works in a register where colour is withheld, and surface is allowed to carry what colour might otherwise be
asked to do. Her palette draws heavily on grey, not as an absence but as a language of its own, capable of holding solitude, peace and the subtler tones of self-examination. She draws her forms from the natural world, from roots, branches and weathered surfaces, treating them not as botanical subjects but as figures for interior states. A root speaks of belonging. A branch speaks of reaching. Working in acrylic, Sutar has been selected for the 43rd Monsoon Show at Jehangir Art Gallery and the 132nd Bombay Art Society Annual Exhibition.
