BHASKARA RAO
ABOUT
Bhaskara Rao Botcha's practice is anchored in the life of the natural world and in the layers of memory, belief and care that gather around it. Within this world, the tree returns as a central presence, carrying associations of endurance, shelter, spirituality and protection. Drawing from Indian mythology and lived experience, he gives the tree a sacred and watchful character. A quiet concern runs through these paintings, an awareness of the fragility that binds human existence to the land. His work has been shown at Icon Art Gallery in Hyderabad and internationally in Taiwan.
