Ajit Raut

Ajit Raut’s practice emerges from the tribal landscapes of Palghar, where nature carries a quality of divinity and the people who inhabit it carry the quiet weight of unfulfilled necessity. His paintings occupy the intersection of Silence and Dead Space, treating the canvas as a site of psychological excavation rather than mere surface. Through portraiture and meticulously textured planes, he investigates how silence carries collective memory and how endurance acquires what he calls gentle numbness, a poetic peace found within struggle. His work holds the heavy, meaningful residue of what remains unsaid, turning solitude and hardship into the fertile ground of his practice.
